So you\u2019ve found the perfect vehicle for you!\u00a0 And now you want to keep it looking new and clean!\u00a0 At Car Direct, we have staff on hand that detail our vehicles every day.\u00a0 These guys know what it takes to keep a car looking great, so we asked them what their #1 tips are that they pass on to customers.\u00a0 And now we\u2019re sharing that with you.<\/p>\n

Exterior Vehicle Cleaning<\/i><\/b>
\nWash the vehicle in a shaded area, where the surface is cool.\u00a0 This way the soap won\u2019t dry too quickly and leave spots, and you don\u2019t have to rewash.
\nUse a mild liquid soap and a car wash mitt or sponge.\u00a0 Be gentle on your paint so that you don\u2019t scratch it.
\nDivide your vehicle into sections when washing, starting at the top (on the roof) and working your way forwards and backwards (hood and back), and then clean the sides.\u00a0 Don\u2019t clean the lower part of the vehicle first, you\u2019ll only wash the dirt from the top back onto the bottom.
\nRinse thoroughly!\u00a0 And when you think the vehicle is all rinsed off, rinse it again.
\nUse a different mitt or glove and clean the tires.
\nDry your vehicle immediately to prevent water spots.<\/p>\n

Interior Vehicle Cleaning<\/i><\/b>
\nVacuum out your car.\u00a0 For those tough to reach places, don\u2019t vacuum but instead use your vacuum to blow out the debris, then vacuum it up once it\u2019s easier to reach.
\nFor those hard to reach cracks, get out a toothbrush (one you don\u2019t plan on using for your teeth) and a paint brush.\u00a0 These are great tools to use!\u00a0 You can brush debris out of hard to reach places, then vacuum it up.
\nTo clean your mats (we know they are dirty \u2013 your feet are always on them), go over them with a scrub brush to loosen the dirt, then vacuum.
\nThe dirtiest parts of your car will be the parts that you actually touch \u2013 steering wheel, seat belt, shifting knob, and the driver\u2019s door panel.\u00a0 Spend a few extra minutes here to ensure everything is clean and tidy. \u00a0After all, you\u2019re getting ready to sit right back down there.\u00a0 Just like the outside, all you need here is a mild soap.
\nFor the dashboard and panels, we recommend using a dampened cloth and wipe them down \u2013 you don\u2019t need to scrub.
\nLastly, clean the windows inside and out with glass cleaner and paper towels.<\/p>\n
